Student Ratings

Student at This School - Grad Year 2016

Academics Rating

NMSU offers several programs in which students may compete with other schools and organizations. Many are free to join such as AIAA or ASME or DBF competitions (Design Build Fly). Some professors have many years of research with NASA and The U.S. Air Force and so providing to credibility of good understanding of taught materials. Workload and homeworks might sometimes go a little over the limit but that is part of college anywhere you go. Some classes are 200+ while others include less than 20, it all depends on the subjects and majors. The Engineering Department on the other hand involves more hands on projects and homework and the classes aren't really big (40 maybe) due to the difficulty of engineering.

Student at This School - Grad Year 2015

Academics Rating

There have been a couple of classes and professors that were not very in tune to the students. They taught what was on their notes and left without making any other contact. This was disappointing when leaving a class with a very warm professor. I did notice this behavior came from bigger class sizes. The smaller the class the more attention from the professor.
