Student Ratings

Student at This School - Grad Year 2015

Academics Rating

So far, each class I have taken has been manageable should students choose to put in the work they require. I have only had one truly amazing professor, but most of them have been adequate and manage to impart the material clearly. The workload is extremely manageable and most classes are fairly small outside of intro level math and science courses.

Alumnus - Grad Year 2003

Academics Rating

The international health department had a strong reputation at the time and I started in that department, but quickly switched to epidemiology. My impression is that the international health department is more geared for students who already have international experience (e.g. Peace Corps or raised abroad) and it was not a good fit for me. The epidemiology faculty was by and large fantastic with motivated and highly intelligent professors willing to help students really learn; there were a few (older) professors who were less interested in teaching and more interested in research. Meta-analysis with Dr. He was amazing. I found the students support systems to be particularly good - departmental counselors when switching fields and selecting classes, and career services when searching for capstone placements and a post-graduation job.
