Overall

Overall this school is amazing, I love that its so close to home and that my major department is so known to every other universities. Criminal justice by far one of the best. I love that the criminal justice club has hands on training that will be for our betterment and knowledge. As well as that they often have speakers who come feed us with positive vibes that make us want to finish school faster.

Academics

Even thought classes are hard to get this school does its best to fit our busy schedules by offering a variety of classes from morning to night. Due go budget cuts working at school is a little more difficult but not imposible. Staff here is amazing they are very interested in our success and for that am great full. Programs here at CSULA are a great opportunity to get us more involved in our majors, aside of being fun they are a great asset to have.

College Life

Life here at cal state LA is comfortable. Our campus is so diverse and that makes it more interesting to come here. This is a place where there truly is no discrimination and I love that. We have a lot of events that resembles the ethnicity of everybody here. We also give back to our community, we often have blood drives, on holidays we collect toys for kids who won't recieve anything and many more caring things.

Overall

My academic program was rigorous. The professors were well known and respected in their fields. I was most interested in obtaining a good education so night life and sports were not important to me-- it didn't matter that they didn't have sports teams. CSULA is located where the Long Beach and Santa Monica freeways intersect so commuting in and out was great. The facilities were good--large,well stocked library, good clinical practice spaces. I obtained both my Master's and Bachelor's degrees at CSULA. Living in L.A , there were lots of choices for higher education in the program of speech and language pathology but CSULA did an excellent job of preparing me for real world expectations.

Academics

My program was accredited by the American Speech and Hearing Assn. which has a high standard for schools. My professors were both good instructors and experienced in the hands on application of necessary professional skills. The program was very difficult.

College Life

Because CSULA is located in Los Angeles there is no shortage of fun and interesting things to do. Going to CSULA was about learning so they did not have a lot of on campus activities. It just wasn't a need for most students.

Overall

I most like my professors, the academic life, and the encouragement that I received from other students. Being a student CSULA is like being a part of a very large family. If belong special diversity group that you may feel has been overlooked else where, you are insured that they wont be here. This campus takes pride in activism and engaging in supporting the fundamental rights of all.

Academics

The classes vary from smaller rooms to larger classes. However, this is a public university so the classes may get overcrowded due to budget cuts. If a class is an elective and may not be a requirement for graduation, then you have a better chance of enrolling in a smaller class. If you like larger classrooms and being in a class with more students, then enroll in classes that are labeled "lecture" which are usually held in the MLK student hall.

College Life

The biggest experience that I could rave about at CSULA is the student life. There seems to always be something to celebrate at CSULA whether it's UDay, a season change, a club pot luck, or cultural celebrations. The diversity on campus reflects those of the city of L.A.

Overall

My overall thoughts about CSULA is that it is a great school if your focus is just on education and not social life. I worked full time and went to school at night, so my experience was great. Also the opportunity to get real world advice from professionals already in my area of interest benefited me in the long run.

Academics

Classes were very straight forward, straight to the point, insightful and informative. Also many of the professors were business professional so they could present real life situation for examples and to give us a hands on feel. The workload was relatively challenge but in a beneficial way. Only issues limited sections for classes and long 1 night a week classes.

College Life

I did not really have a social life on campus due to my work schedule but the campus was very safe and clean. At my attendance, they were creating a new and improved student facility with more amenities.

Overall

Great atmosphere and people; academics and professors a bit lacking. Subjects are engaging. Located in LA many things to do. traffic may be poor at times, morning classes are usually packed, there are several things to do in the area, greatly encourage exploring downtown LA

Academics

Students are intelligent, school si great. Professors however are lacking skill in some courses, be wary they do not teach very well. Some classes are great, others are not. Hit or MIss.Great atmosphere and people; academics and professors a bit lacking. Subjects are engaging.

College Life

very active student lifestyle; many things to do, sororities, fraternities, large student body that wants to have fun and go out, very exciting, definitely go out and meet people, everyone is out to have a good time; there are a few odd ones here and there be wary of those people

Overall

I loved that we had diverse courses and interesting professors in the anthropology department. They offered different type of cultural anthropology courses from myth & folklore to the anthropology of love.

Academics

The professors range from old and experienced to young and enthusiastic to teach. The professors are very accessible and will go out of their way to help a young mind. The workload is fair and the class sizes vary on the popularity of the course.

College Life

Even though I didn't really participate in any of the clubs or organizations at Cal State LA, I know they have clubs and organizations for students with diverse backgrounds, political affiliations and athletic interests.
