About Mississippi College of Beauty Culture

Since 1952, Mississippi College of Beauty Culture has provided a comprehensive beauty education to students throughout the state. The college’s academics currently include the Cosmetology and Cosmetology Instructor programs.

The Cosmetology program, which runs 1500 hours, is designed to lead to many career options. You’ll be qualified to work in a salon, open and manage your own, or sell cosmetics. You will also be ready for the instructor training course or for advanced cosmetology training, which the school recommends for all of its graduates.

The Cosmetology Instructor course is half the length of the Cosmetology program. By the end of the course, you’ll be prepared for to teach the art of beauty work to beginning students.

Admissions requirements for the Mississippi College of Beauty Culture vary based on the course. To apply for the Cosmetology program, you must be at least 17 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. The Instructor program requires applicants to be experienced registered cosmetologists of at least 21 years of age.

Additionally, applicants to the Instructor program should have taken at least six college credits in sociology, psychology or English.
