Overall

I really love that my school goes through the effort to show the students the resources available so that it really becomes helpful. Before this semester, I didn't know the student resource center offered private free tutoring.

Academics

The programs are alright, kind of like high school a little bit too much for my taste, but the class sizes are small and the teachers outstanding. The counselors really strive to make you more attractive in the career field and find your true passions.

Campus Facilities & Safety

Other than the metal architecture, the campus is always presentable and gives off a friendly feel. Also, the ceramics facility is amazing- I really like that they put money into their arts programs. Their theater is very up to date and nice also.

Overall

I live in Chico CA, and Butte College is about 30 minutes away in Oroville Ca. Fortunately, there is an extension that houses most of the GE courses in Chico about 10 minutes from my house which makes things much easier. Overall the campus is clean and well maintained and the programs offered are vast for a community college.

Academics

Most of the classes are well established. Professors are organized and the course material is structured well. Most professors tend to be rather flexible for students with heavy workloads but still manage to push individuals to excel in various challenges.

Campus Facilities & Safety

As mentioned about the campus is very clean and orderly. Parking is rarely an issue. Computer labs and other facilities are often open and available to all students. Butte also has a wonderful tutoring program for students struggling in key areas.

Overall

Overall I think that Butte College is a very nice school to attend. Unlike some schools, Butte College is not a party type school everyone is very focused on their education. I think this is my favorite part about Butte College because you don’t have to worry about the crazy party kids. Also the staff at Butte College are all really nice and helpful. When ever I have a question I go to the campus welcome center and they are always very polite and try to answer my questions or help me in what ever way they can. When I first started going to college I was very nervous, but now that I have been going for a while I know that I can relax because Butte is a very stress free college. Although some people complain about the parking, I have never had a problem because I went and got a carpool tag since my boy friend and I always car pool together. When I first started to research colleges I was determined to go to Shasta College because of their Veterinary Technician program, but the more I learned about that college the more I didn’t like it. It seems like a much bigger college than Butte. It seemed like it would be impossible to find my classes and the staff didn’t seem as friendly. Also Shasta College is a long ways away from where I live compared to Butte. Overall Butte is a very friendly college and I really enjoy going to school their.

Academics

Butte College offers a wide variety of classes. They offer the main classes so that you can get all your general Ed. Out of the way, but they also have very cool classes available. This semester I am taking a class called Feeds and Feeding even though it isn’t a prerequisite for becoming a Veterinary Technician I thought it would help me understand animal nutrition better. I love this class; it is so interesting especially since I have animals. It begins at eight in the morning but I am never asleep at all it is so interesting. This is just my second semester so I haven’t been at Butte long but I am very impressed at how many classes they offer for such a small college. I am also impressed by all the programs they offer. They have a great job placement program, and also they have a nice on campus health center. They have so many Programs that I haven’t even checked out all of them completely. The whole college is focused on making students happy. When I first started college I was scared the professors would be mean, but they are all very nice and extremely helpful. For example my English teacher helped me go from a D student to an A student because of how nice and helpful she is. At Butte College the work loads are big but not as big as in high school. The class sizes are some times big but that never means you are neglected.

Campus Facilities & Safety

The campus atmosphere is great. It is very laid back but yet it is not a party school. All the other students are very nice. It seems like everyone is very focused on school which is great because in class everyone is paying attention to the professors. Everyone is very professional not just the staff but also the students. The campus facilities are very nice, the class rooms are all up to date with projectors and pull down screens. Everything on campus is very clean. The class rooms are never dirty, you never see any trash on the walk ways and all the bathrooms are spotless clean. I also like the landscaping. Although it is just a college and I am only their to attend my classes, the landscaping gives the college a welcoming feel. It is always well kept; I have never seen a single weed or peace of grass out of place. Although I have only been to the computer lab a couple of times I thought it was great. There is a lot of computers, then attached to that was the library. Their are books on just about every subject you could think of. The college’s organizational skills are very helpful. They label everything so that it is easy to find. The campus parking is very stress full if you don’t get their early enough. Luckily I have an early class so I beat the parking hassle, but the traffic going into the college is scary and I think needs some improvement. The campus has campus police that are always around to help you, all u need to do is call and they will be right their, I feel very safe attending this school.
