About Millikin University

"Performance learning" is the phrase that defines Millikin University, a four-year school located in the mid-sized city of Decatur, Illinois.

Milikin University academics, which include undergraduate and graduate programs in the arts, sciences, business and fine arts, are not confined to books and lectures. Hands-on practice and application of what's learned in the classroom is what sets Milikin apart. All Milikin students are encouraged to do internships in their chosen field of study at companies in Decatur and in other cities.

However, the hands-on philosophy isn't limited to internships. Students also venture out and put their skills to use in other ways as well. For example, a theatre arts student might fly to New York for auditions, a science student may assist with crucial lab research and a pre-law student might participate in moot court trials.

Milkin's Center for Entrepreneurship is another division which helps students to integrate themselves into the real world of work. They provide professional networking opportunities with local businesses as well as professional development training.

With a student body in the thousands, Milikin has a mid-sized campus and is located about three hours away from Chicago and Indianapolis, so when you're not involved in college life like clubs, performances or sports, you can explore the culturally rich cities nearby.

Financial aid offerings include loans and numerous need-based and non-need-based scholarships and grants such as the Pace Grant for adult learners and a scholarship for those planning to teach. These options are available to those who qualify for tuition assistance.

Because Milikin's admissions requirements vary by program, check the website for specifications to the program of your choice. The application to the university is also available online.
