About Chatham University
As a student at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, you’ll become immersed in the city life of Pittsburgh as much as you will in the school’s academics and co-curricular activities. The university strives to produce students that will not only excel in their professions, but who also are in touch with their community and live environmentally and globally responsible lives.
Students are encouraged to take part in many of the college life opportunities that the university offers, including a community choir, student government, and a wide variety of active student clubs and organizations that take your education to the next level.
The university is composed of three distinct colleges: the Chatham College for Women, College for Graduate Studies, and College for Continuing and Professional Studies, which combine to offer over 500 courses of study.
The Chatham College for Women honors the tradition of being founded as the Pennsylvania Female College in 1869. The school provides preparation for law school, medical school, and science-based graduate programs. Students have study-abroad, internship, service learning, and leadership opportunities designed to produce the leaders of tomorrow.
Both the College for Graduate Studies and College for Continuing and Professional Studies are co-ed, allowing all students the opportunity to enhance their education in areas like Business Administration, Interior Architecture, Creative Writing, and many more.
Accelerated graduate programs are also offered, giving students the option of earning a bachelor’s degree in their field of choice along with a master’s degree in as little as five years.
Financial aid is available to eligible students, some of which include the Pittsburgh Promise scholarship, other merit-based scholarships, and other forms of federal assistance.
