Reviews for St. Edward's University
When I toured the campus before deciding to attend school at St. Edward's I feel in love. It is a beautiful campus and everyone is helpful. Currently there is a lot of construction going on on campus so it is easiest to travel on the streets around campus rather than through campus if you need to get somewhere in a hurry. There are always events going on that are geared toward diverse audiences and it is really a lot of fun.
At St. Edward's everyone is required to take general classes called CULF classes. The subjects of these range from Understanding and Appreciating the Arts to Evolution of Global Process. Although it can be a little daunting to have to take these courses on top of Major required courses they are actually very interesting and help build a better understanding of your community, give a global prospective, and teach new ideas and concepts. In my experience here I have only ever had problems with two professors and when discussing my concerns those professors took them seriously and thoughtfully put my mind at ease about the issues. Workloads will really depend on the class, but I have been taking 18 hours for the last two semesters and have achieved academic sussess without stretching myself too thin.
Our Student Life department hosts events designed to help students find their place on campus as well as encouraging them to create new organizations if they have other interests. People, for the most part, are very open and inviting in organizations. Most clubs and orgs. have new member welcome days and events. After living on campus for two years I can say that I have never falt unsafe. Campus police make rounds every 15 minutes and respond quickly when they are called. Athletics are fairly small at my school because it is such a small university, however students have great school spirit.
