The Health Sciences Center in Shreveport is responsible for all of LSU’s medical research and health-related academics. The Health Sciences Center is home to the following institutes and schools:
*Biomedical Research Institute
*Feist-Weiller Cancer Center
*LSU Medical School
*LSU School of Allied Health Professions
*LSU School of Graduate Studies.
In terms of academics, LSUHSC Shreveport’s School Graduate Studies offers master’s degrees and Ph.D. programs in several areas of the health care field. Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Microbiology & Immunology and Molecular Pathology are among the programs currently available.
The School of Medicine offers a comprehensive four-year pre-med program, while the School of Allied Health Professions has several additional bachelor’s programs. Some of the available fields of study include Cardiopulmonary Science and Clinical Laboratory Sciences. The school also offers a two-year Physician Assistant program.
Among the financial aid opportunities at LSUHSC Shreveport are federal consolidation loans and Stafford loans. Additionally, the school funds various scholarships based on academics, special interests, and financial need, as well as fee waivers for eligible students.
