College Life Rating

Life at Samford is like no other place I have been. The campus is absolutely gorgeous with millions spent on greenery every year, as well as jaw dropping historic architectural detail. It is great to go out and study on the quad, sit by the fountain, or simply just walk around and experience its beauty. The campus is very safe as well. Gates are open every day until midnight, and after allow only students and their visitors to enter. I even feel safe walking back to my dorm at 2 am after finishing an art project or watching a movie in a friend's dorm. There are so many different clubs and organizations available to join; way too many to count. Getting involved is so easy and fun. Samford is a great size because its big enough to where you can meet someone new every day, but small enough to where you see familiar faces often. Athletics are great at Samford with every event being free to students, and during football season there is tailgating with tons of free food. Weekends at Samford can be a lot of fun with all of the activities available in Birmingham to do. I will say that some people do go home on the weekends, but that only lasts about a month or two for freshman. After this homesick phase everyone generally stays and hangs out on the weekends. Activities students enjoy are swing dancing, movie nights, sporting events, eating out, shopping, and parties. Samford is a dry campus so all parties on campus do not allow alcohol, but there is plenty of activities off campus some students enjoy with alcohol if that's your thing too. There are so many great things about Samford, and I really recommend taking a visit to fully experience it!
