Overall

Overall, as a student of Florida Atlantic University I have been able to witness how diverse the school's community is. Not only culturally and ethnically, but educationally as well. FAU offers many varying majors/minors, and classes over all for student to enroll in.

Academics

As far as academics go, I was very impressed with FAU. Often times college students are presented with the idea that college professors will be rude, and not care much about whether the student learns or not. However, FAU's professors and staff are diverse educators that genuinely care about effectively teaching their students. As a side note, the class sizes are not as large as beginning college students are told. The largest lecture I was enrolled in had 150 students, although that is large, compared to other class sizes at other universities, it is on the small size.

College Life

FAU's number one thing that appeals to prospective students all around the world, is it's diversity and acceptance of diversity. Never have I been to a school with more culturally, ethnically, and personality differences, and where everyone is accepted. Of course there is the Greek Life aspect, but on top of that, there are groups for ethnic groups and the lesbian/gay population as well. Being that all types of people are accepted at FAU, it allows for FAU's students to feel comfortable on campus. When students feel accepted and comfortable in the place they are studying and living, it provides the student the ability to learn in a relaxed environment, and to have fun. FAU students can do all of this, all while staying safe and protected by FAU Police and staff/administrators.

Overall

I like the main campus the most. There is more to do there than any of the other campuses. My least favorite campus is the one in Fort Lauderdale, because it is not in a safe place and it is dirty. The library at the main campus is a great size and there are so many different resources to help with your studies. It is so easy to make memorable experiences with your friends and even new friends.

Academics

There is a great variety of classes and programs you could take. Especially when your looking for what to take in your own field. With the requirements you are given to graduate there are still more classes left to take! The accessibility to office hours and lab hours is great as well. The workload fits to whats write for the subject matter. Class size depends on the programs you take.

College Life

There are an abundance of activities to do and opportunities to meet many new people. With the amount of clubs there are to choose from, its so hard not to be in one and make new friends. The campus police are seen all around the campus as well as campus security. All along the campus there are emergency posts that you can go to if your in trouble. During the weekend, there are tons of activities all around.

BEST place to go for Ocean Engineering! It was founded here you know. Amazing professors, always helpful, plenty of opportunities to get involved in research. We also came first in submersible competitions!

College Life

Football, Greek Life, concerts, everything was great. Had a lot of fun especially tailgating at the Rat's Mouth!

Overall

I think the school is possitioned to be a very competative school here in Florida, but it is still somewhat young and loosing its commuter-student reputation. I was in graduate school, and it is very competative - I think the undergraduate program is becoming a little more competative.

Academics

Once again - I was a graduate student so the classes and workload are massive. Class sizes were never large, but I have walked by some of the undergraduate lecture halls and the classes were huge, but that would be the same in any large acedemic center.

College Life

I took advantage or of some of the graduate organizations (actually, I was a founding member of the Graduate Student advisory Board to the Dean). Played some intermural sports, but Boca Raton is not too student friendly - but maybe I am wrong? I lived off campus in Delray Beach and Deerfield Beach - both much more fun than Boca.
