Academics Rating

I was an East Asian Studies major, which enabled me to take advantage of the incredible language program (I studied Mandarin), and great professors in the history, economics and political science departments. If you do choose to study a new language from scratch (which I highly recommend), you should be ready for a heavy workload in Year 1. Most people spend "J Term" on the ski slopes, but folks studying languages do an intensive month of immersion with 4 hours of class per day and a ton of homework. That being said, the program pays huge dividends and you will end up feeling confident and accomplished in your new language. A few memorable professors - don't know how many are still there - Murray Dry (Poli Sci), John Berninghausen (Chinese), and Don Wyatt (History).
