I finished my first quarter attendings and I was excited to start the winter quarter for my dream, but I was diagnosed cancer ride before the winter class start. I felt that my dream was distroyed, lost hopes and felt no way out. But the disable office worked with the financial aid office to be able to continue my study after my operation and told me to come back when I am ready. In addition to my cancer, I have a very rare disease and the biology professor who teach the disease affected to history, arranged the time for me to represent it in the class. The disable office hand out the flyer to the campus what to be careful. A lot of staffs tried to understand unknown disease and supported me to be able to keep going with my dream study. I could keep 4.0 GPA without their support. They understood and supported more than my own family does.
I was in a special group of women who had thier lives turned upside down, most because of divorces.Displaced Homemakers was the term we were called. The group was named "Women on the Move " I felt priveleged to be in it, with all the other women. We had special classes we all attended together. We had special attention and help with our studies. I made some great relationships with these women, and still see some of them from time to time. I am still impressed with the way the group was set up, and the help we got. It's very important to make connections with students you are going to see and be with even one ot two days a week. We all helped each other, which made life a little easier.I give Everett Community College an A+ . Thank you for allowing me to say what I think of this school. I guess you can tell I enjoyed it, even while going through some very difficult times. Thanks, Pauline MillerThey
