Overall

The things that I admire most about this university is that it focuses on student success and provides different techniques on how to succeed. Also, the class sizes are very small and you have a better understanding of the material that is being taught. Memorable tips are to use the resources that are provided to you because they are very helpful and you will need them. Talk to your professors and get to know them because that will help you and they will know that you are trying if you ask them for help.

Academics

Class sizes are very small, there are about 25 students in a class. Sciences classes may have about 40 students in the lecture and 20 students in the lab. The university has a class for every level so you can start at a pace that's best for you. Beginning level classes, intermediate classes, and advanced classes to help you reach your goal. Professors are willing to help you in every way that they can so that you can succeed and not have to take the class over. The work load is very high and you have to study and do assignments that the professors give.

College Life

The University takes field trips to different museums, art galleries, and other places so that you can enjoy your college experience. The social atmosphere is great because you meet new students and professors on every site of the campus. The safety of the university is great because campus security is patrolling every site of the campus from the front to the back. Also, the university has emergency phones, and if you are having trouble with your car or don't feel safe walking at night, campus security will drive you to your car. The university has a club/organization for every intended major. These clubs/organizations are here to help you build up your skills and experience in your education, work, and social life. You can start your own club/organization with the approval of an administrator. The diversity at the university is wonderful because we have students from all over the world attending the university.

Overall

Overall I think the University of Michigan-Dearborn is an underrated school. It is a great college environment with a lively atmosphere. I know many friends and family who have attended the university and had many great things to say about it. I intend to major in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, and I have learned that the University of Michigan-Dearborn has an outstanding School of Engineering. The thing I like most is that it is a prototypical college environment. I want that genuine college experience, that big social explosion people experience in college, but at the same time I do better in small crowds. I feel the university would be a good fit for me because the class sizes are small, and the campus is not overcrowded. I smaller university gives a close-to-home feeling. To any prospective students I would say choose a university to attend not for how well known it is, or how amazing your parents think it is, choose a university that caters to you. Decide on a university that keeps you grounded, a place where you know that you will have great focus in whatever career path you pursue.

Academics

As far as academics are concerned the University of Michigan-Dearborn caters to me greatly, their student to faculty ratio is 18:1 which I feel is excellent for me, I prefer small classes, where I am more one on one with my teachers. I have been accepted to their school of engineering and I am planning to attend this upcoming fall.

College Life

There is a great social atmosphere at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. There is a lot of diversity at the University, people from all walks of life, all over the world, it is truly a culture shock. This diversity makes it a great environment, the campus safety is very good as well. I have yet to take part in the athletics, weekend activities, and clubs and organizations, but once I decide on attending I will definitely take part in all these things.
