Overall
I am a current student at the University of Kentucky located in Lexington, KY. I am a non traditional returning student and have found UK to a great school. The campus is easy to navigate and is aesthetically pleasing. The student activities board is always having one event or another.
Academics
I just transferred from a small technical college so the class size seem large but I know as I progress the class size will shrink. I am enjoying the classes I signed up for this semester. My professors are extremely intelligent and are very motivating individuals.
College Life
As a non traditional returning student I am not very involved with campus life but from what I hear from the younger students there is a very happening scene here at UK. I believe that I would have been very involved back in my twenties but now that I am in my thirties I work full time and don't seem to have the time to take part in extra-curricular activities.

Overall
The University had a great program geared toward adult returning students. Specifically assigned faculty and staff very effectively helped those students who were married, raising children, working full-time jobs and who did not live on campus. I was glad for the special treatment.
Academics
I worked full-time and attended business classes at night. Professors were dedicated to teaching at night but were also very considerate of our multi-task lifestyles. For example, the district judge who taught business law allowed me to come to his chambers to take make-up tests when my work schedule conflicted with my class schedule.
College Life
That was so long ago but I do remember utilizing the student center for sorority meetings and functions. It was also a wonderful social gathering place to play card and see your college friends. University of Kentucky, well known for basketball, kept the campus exciting and "bouncing"! There were not many known problems with safety at that time. To note, there was still a lot of separate activities held among the races at that time.

When one attends a large University they can easily get lost. Large University still display some culture separation which can make ones learning experience overwhelming. Universities should make freshman students attend a two week mandatory program to help them understand the dynamics of the school.
Academics
I do not believe there was much of a challenge at the University of Kentucky. Because the classes are so large professors didn't take the needed time to discuss topics. Students were expected to read the material and take a test, which does not produce and effective learning environment.
College Life
University of Kentucky athletics is one of the most amazing experiences one will encounter. The social atmosphere is enjoyable and makes attending this University pleasant. I did not get involved in many organizations because there was some uncertanity.

Overall
I lived in the dorms the first two years of school and really enjoyed it. Campus dining is better at some places than others, and I would have preferred it be healthier, but overall it is pretty decent. I also joined a sorority, which I really enjoyed, however there are so many rules and regulations put upon greeks, that you often fear that the mistakes of one person might get the chapter kicked off campus. I really enjoyed everything I was able to be involved in through the sorority and on my own. There was always something going on on campus. I would suggest that every student live on campus for at least their freshman year.
Academics
UK is a very large university, but still has many smaller class sizes. I enjoyed having classes of both sizes but I feel that certain subjects should have smaller class sizes or a resuscitation class for more individual help . For example, classes such as math and chemistry, not only require a lecture and memorization of facts, but also application. It would be much better to have courses such as these in smaller class sizes.
College Life
UK is very big on sports so every sporting event is fun. There are tons of clubs and organizations to join and there is always something going on during the week and on weekends. Many of the clubs and activities are free or very fairly priced.

Small classes in engineering. I don't want to write a review at least 250 characters long so I'm not going to. You can accept what I have written or you can accept what I have done or you can disregard. This could be a problem with this asking people to write something with a specific number of characters.

Sufficiently challenging. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Overall
I basically enjoyed my experiences. I enjoyed my classes. At the time that I went there, the lecture halls were pretty large but the classes were broken down into labs- even history. That was were you could get your questions answered. I basically left cause I couldn't take the winters in Lexington. That was my home but I couldn't take the winters.
Academics
I was studying merchandising but I was only there for a year & half so at the time I was only in my core classes which were fine. The class I remember was probably my history class. I can't remember my professor's name although I did like him. He was very interesting and he would have so much information, I would walk out of the class with a cramp in my hand from taking notes. He made the subject so interesting that when I took the tests I gave him back a lot of information because it was memorable. Although I couldn't remember dates. So out of that class I got a B for "Barely" cause it was a history class I was supposed to remember dates.
College Life
I had a great social life. Proably too much of a social life. I liked hanging out in the student center, I was involved with the Black Voices and I was a Kappa Kitten for awhile too. I still keep in touch with my classmates although one girl I haven't kept in touch with over the years but I remember her to this day- Kathy form Michigan.
