About LSCC

Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) was established in 1962 by a group of inspired citizens to provide the opportunity for Lake and Sumter County students to receive an advanced education. Since then, we have grown into a three-campus institution serving over 7500 students annually. Our Leesburg, South Lake (Clermont) and Sumter (Sumterville) campuses have become viable assets in their communities.

LSSC offers over 30 degree, certificate, and diploma programs. Everything from an Associate in Arts (A.A.), an Associate in Science (A.S.), an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.), to a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) in Organizational Management. In addition to these degree programs, LSSC offers a number of Technical Certificate programs in a variety of academic disciplines. Start in Fall 2018, LSSC will offer a RN to BSN program.

LSSC is a University of Central Florida (UCF) Direct Connect program partner; this means if you earn your A.A. degree from LSSC, you are guaranteed admission into UCF.

Services at LSSC include career services, academic advising and financial aid for eligible students. In addition, LSSC offers a number of student organizations and sports teams

Overall Rating

The staff of this school is very much willing to assist in scheduling classes, ensuring that students sign up the right classes, and aid in any financial assistance that student's are receiving. The class sizes are small and the teachers get to know the student's on a first name basis. They are all capable of teaching their subject matters and will help student's that are seeking help in the class.

Overall Rating

I am looking forward to going to school. I been on endless job for the past year. So at this point I am hopeless and think if I go back to school maybe I can manage to keep a job. Right now I am a single mom out of work and on unemployment. I also been a stay at home mom for years, so my work skills are not updated.
