Overall

They are really great with scholarships and financial aid. It is a smaller school, so the faculty and student body are both friendly and helpful. The staff will do whatever they can to help you succeed.

Academics

There is an excellent variety of programs, you can really find almost whatever you want to study here. The professors are amazing, very willing to help and are great academic resources. Since it is smaller, the class sizes are beneficial to getting that more personalized education, which is really great going into professional life.

College Life

The social life at this campus is pretty fun, it is a Big 12 school so it is large enough and has a strong enough athletic body to really make it a community. Students and faculty alike can bond and talk about the football games and the celebrations afterward. Campus is quite safe, it is well-lit at night. There is an area downtown where many students go on the weekends or to just let loose.Although this is a relatively small town, it is surprisingly pleasant and fun.

Overall

Kansas State is a good school, especially for older students. It has a great Greek Life program, lots of scholarships, and there is help available everywhere for people who are having issues with classes. One issue with K-State is that the food in the Union is VERY expensive, so plan for that. If you go there, get a Cat Cash card, because you get extra money each time you load cash on the card. Plan to walk a lot, and plan your classes accordingly, this campus is HUGE and you only have 10 minutes between classes.

Academics

The general ed classes are usually pretty full, and have around 1-200 students in them. Once you get into your degree program, the classes are much smaller and you have more of the instructors attention. You can take classes online and in person, the online classes cost more but it is convenient if you work to manage your classes that way. Be warned, though: Math classes are tough, and the professors teach fast.

College Life

Very social, very fun. The sidewalks of the school are always chalked up with information on new groups, meetings, bake sales, dances, etc. Everywhere you walk there's more information on what to do and where to go.

Overall

It's a fairly standard state university, a good value for the money, and with a pretty friendly midwestern culture. I really enjoy the small classes where you get to know teachers who have specialization in certain fields. The on campus facilities are slightly better than average.

Academics

There is a good variety of course size, from large lectures to more intimate smaller classes. The small classes are definitely preferred. Professors range in quality from excellent to terrible, it's kind of a luck game in most scenarios. Workload vastly depends on choice of major, as with most schools. Gen ed classes are fairly easy.

College Life

There's a pretty good variety of clubs and organizations, everything ranging from art history society to skydiving to anime club. The weekend atmosphere in the town is fairly limited to Aggieville, and the concert scene is pretty lackluster. The university does make attempts to draw comedians and musicians, but the town is so small it just makes more sense for visiting artists to go to Lawrence or Kansas City.

Overall

Overall, Kansas State is a very friendly campus. Everyone is willing to help and the professors are focused on helping you do your best. I am involved in a sorority and I think that is one of my favorite things in the university. It has helped me meet a lot of people and really get involved. My advice would be to get involved in some sort of organization because that is how you meet people and connect!

Academics

My class sizes are all relatively small, 20 students, except for one large lecture. The classes push you to learn but they are not impossible. As long as you study and keep up with the work, you will receive a good grade. The professors are there to help you, and they always provide office hours, where you can ask them specific questions.

College Life

There is always something going on at the Manhattan campus. From homecoming week, to movie nights at the Union, there will never be a dull moment. There are many organizations to get involved in based on your interests. I feel very safe on campus and there are many precautionary devices used on campus. The campus support we have for our athletics is outstanding. Thousands of students attend games home and away! School spirit is high in Manhattan, so come and join the Wildcat fun!

Overall

Although it's a large university, K-State offers a friendly, small-town atmosphere. When I toured campus as a high school senior, everyone on campus was very welcoming and made me feel at home. I knew within the first 10 minutes on campus that I wasn't going anywhere else!

Academics

My professors were great! Even in large lectures, my professors made a point to get to know their students on a first-name basis. The professors were always willing to schedule one-on-one meetings with me when I needed extra help in class or had questions on an assignment.

College Life

I strongly recommend the Greek system at K-State. The friendships and support that I built through my sorority will last a lifetime. In addition, through the Greek system I learned academic discipline and life skills for building a career after college.
