Overall

When researching colleges I wish I knew more about the program of study I wanted to go in to. UIC is a top school in academics and is very diverse-wish I love. Now that I am studying in my field, I am happy as ever and feel that many of the professors really care about the syudents sucess.

Academics

Many gen-ed classes are pretty large ( Math 121- 100+sudents), but as you start studying in your major, the classes get smaller. All classes that I have taken, were meant to challenge us students and stimulate minds.

College Life

The school is really what you make of it. Because it's in the city and not in a "college-town" there is not always big events going on. However, there are many school clubs& organizationss. Also little dorm parties are always happening if you know the right people. Plus you are given a UPass, so you can always explore the big city.

Overall

I think the school is great. It is overall a very different type of campus. It is very diverse with students from all sorts of backgrounds and from all over Illinois, the united states and the world. Also not many campuses do you get the atmosphere of atypical campus but get the city life as well.

Academics

Starting off at 100 level classes the classes can be huge but as you advance they typically downsize. There are many programs to select which is awesome if your unsure what you want to do. You will have some professors who really care and want to help you any anyway possible.

College Life

About 85% of the population are commuters so campus is pretty dead on the weekend. If you stay on campus or just coming to enjoy the city there are plenty of places explore in the great city of Chicago.
