The 5 college system allows you to take classes at any of the other schools in the area (Amherst, Smith, Mount Holyoke and Hampshire). Effectively, this means that for the price of UMass tuition, you can take advantage of some of the most selective and rigorous college education in the country. Too few students take advantage of this unique opportunity, but those who do are much richer for it in experience.
