Overall

The tour was lead by passionate professionals. I was excited by the atmosphere and professionalism. The Walter Cronkite school had many hands on experiences for students and all areas of journalism were included to create a well rounded graduate.

Academics

The professors seemed focused and driven. I was impressed with the additional opportunities that Barrett students receive. Smaller classes and experienced faculty are two great benefits. Though there is additional work required for Barrett student, the rewards are well worth it.

College Life

Both campuses are vibrant and thriving. While the Tempe campus is a traditional college environment, the downtown campus is surrounded by exciting city life. The campus has a very present security force. Though the campus I plan to attend is in a large city, I felt very safe there.

Overall

I am a prospective student and after I toured this campus I can honestly say that it is a beautiful campus that has so much to offer. It has so many opportunities with administrators who really seem to care about their students. Their location is extremely convenient and their campus is a perfect fit for anyone interested in living or pursuing a career in the city.

Academics

I am a prospective student and after I toured the campus I was extremely impressed with the programs and classes that are offered on campus. The professors that I met were respectful and seemed passionate about their jobs as well as the success for their students. The class sizes seemed perfect and even the lecture classes I visited were a great size because they were not too big.

College Life

I am a prospective student and when I toured the campus I immediately felt welcomed as if this school was about to be my new home. All of the students were both kind and helpful. They seemed extremely passionate about their school work and their success. I didn't learn much about athletics because it is the downtown campus, which doesn't seem to be too involved with the athletics programs. There were many clubs that I saw and they seemed interesting. The social atmosphere was extremely positive and exciting. Also, at this ASU campus, they schedule a great variety of weekend activities including many different "must see" events or fun events for students to take part in. I was overall very impressed.

Overall

I think Arizona State is a fantastic college all around. I love how the Downtown campus has a perfect location for the majors it host, so there are multiple opportunities for internships and jobs. The offices of your professors and classes are literally less than five minutes away from where you sleep, so if you ever have a question or wake up late for class you don't have to stress. There are multiple areas to study too. There are terraces on each floor of Taylor Place, a library beneath the dorms, outside and indoor seating all around, restaurants, and you can create a study group and use a private room in the library. There are so many activites you are able to walk to such as; profesional basketball and baseball games, concerts, movie theaters, restaurants, museums, relaxing gardens, and an amazing gym. There is so much to do that any type of person could find something that interests them in Downtown Phoenix. I learned during my tour that many of the profesional games are only five dollars a ticket for Arizona State Downtown students, so if any prospective students love sports, that is a great opportunitie for them to watch high class atheletes. The dorm rooms are only about 6 years old, and are in such great condition they remind me of a high end hotel room. Students get their own bathroom that you share with a roommate and have the option to have a maid clean it for them, if you do not mind paying a fee. Each floor of Taylor Place is also split among the different colleges so that everyone on each floor has similar majors. This allows you to have a greater chance to get help with homework and meet people with your common interests. There are amazing views from the rooms, as well, of the city and the beautiful Arizona sunset, everynight. The most memorable moment I had when I was touring the Arizona State Downtown campus was sitting on a bench with my mom and seeing a class be released. All of the students coming out of the class looked so happy. All of them were talking and laughing together. I recommend visiting the capus if you are considering going to Arizona State, because once you step on the campus, you will immediately make your decision that Arizona State is the place to be.

Academics

The classes at Arizona State University Downtown are very small compared to most classes on other Arizona State campuses. Rather than having five hundred students in one class, you are able to have more one on one time with your professors due to small class sizes. I also find the professors to be very willing to help their students succeed. Professors form study groups for classes, and students can email or call their professor if they have any questions. The Downtown campus is also known for housing the professional majors at Arizona State, so the location of the college could not be any better. Being in the middle of the big city, there are ample opportunites to get internships or jobs that pertain to your major that are only a short walk down the street. Downtown students also have a chance to take classes on all of the other four campuses of Arizona State University by using the free buses provided by the college. The work load at Arizona State is also perfectly planned so that you do not feel overwhelmed, but by the time you are in your senior year, you will have a lot for time for internships or jobs rather than classes. I also find it very apealling that Arizona State ranks within the top 100 colleges in the United States. This just shows how strong Arizona State's programs are and how dedicated the professors are to making their classes exceptional.

College Life

When you walk onto the Downtown campus you are not able to tell that you are in the middle of Phoenix, Arizona. The campus is so close-knit that everywhere you walk everyone around you is engaged in another person or calling out to someone down the road. It must be the yearly sunshine, but everyone on the Arizona State Downtown campus looked happy to be there. There are over 1000 clubs to choose from at Arizona State, so there is definitely something for every type of perosn. You, also, have the option to create a club of your own if you can not find anything that interest you. I also felt extremily safe walking on the campus. There are safe buttons all around the campus that you can push and have a police officer directly sent to you if you ever feel uncomfortable. There are also security ambassadors always walking around the campus, so if you ever feel unsafe walking somewhere at night, you are able to ask an ambassador to escort you to where you need to go. You are also able to put the ambassadors number into your phone, so if you get lost or need help you can call them for help at anytime. The atheletics at Arizona State are amazing. Everywhere you go everyone is sportin' the fork. Nearly every window in Taylor Place had a Sparky or Fork sign hanging in their window. Sun Devil pride is shown on each floor of Taylor Place, where as each floor gets ready to go to Sun Devil games together and take the 10 minute light rail over to Sun Devil Stadium or the Wells Fargo Arena inTempe. Also, the Downtown students have awesome opportunities to watch professional sports just five minutes away from their dorm rooms. Downtown campus students also should keep an eye open for the countless acts that come to Phoenix, you are bound to find a band or act that you will enjoy watching. On the weekends there are endless activities to do. It ranges from going to see a movie just down the road to taking a ride over to Tempe to stroll up and down the iconic Mill Avenue. There is never a dull moment on the weekend at Arizona State University. The well known Greek Life just off the Tempe campus will always make sure to live up to their legacy, and have a party ready to go for the weekend. Arizona State has an atmosphere that any person can fit into. With the endless clubs and activities going on, you will never have a dull moment at Arizona State.
