Reviews for Long Island University, C W Post
This school deserves your attention ! The students are all very nice and all the professsors I had were above average. The professors are the real deal, they know their stuff. They all have excellent credentials and again, all the professors I had taught very well to exceptional. I'm in the BS/MPA Health Care Administration Degree program and I can personally tell you that they all have my respect. From the people in the Finacial Aid Department like Danielle Hall, who went out of her way numerous times and made it possible for me (monetarily) to return to college at 40 years old. Or, people like my Academic Advisor, Kaitlin Jensen, who you can always count on a quick response and accurate information to help 'guide' you on the correct path to earning you degree. Or, it could be like professors like Dr. Webster who have decades of experience to share with his students. I was fortunate enough to have him twice before he decided it was time to retire - he will be missed. And professors like Dr. Henderson, who joined the family three semesters ago. Next semester I was able to get him as my professor for two of my classes, so, I was excited about that. In closing, let me say, that anyone that is on or near Long Island, you should definitely give Long Island University a strong look, you deserve it.
Being in the BS/MPA in Health Care Administration Degree program, I can tell you that the the professors are top notch, the workload is demanding, but, remember this college not high school. Its not overwhelming to the point where you can't do it, it's just demanding. You need to stay on top of things and don't fall behind. You need to put forth some effort and you'll be fmore then fine. Class size can be anywhere from a dozen students upto forty. So, your professor really has your attention and vise versa. I definitely recommend the school and the program.
The social atmosphere is above average and enjoyable, I never mind being at the CW Post campus. Everyone is very friendly and I never see any disturbances at any time. I have an hour commute each way so it's hard for me to belong to any clubs or organizations, however, I do hear very positive things from my peers. As far as the campus safety, you can always check their reports and incidents on campus. You will see that the campus is very safe, you feel safe because it is safe ! The security are always up and about. You always see them around, so, I would say they have a very high presence and are very friendly. It's good that they are highly visable since in their line of work its always better to be 'proactive' not 'reactive'. Again, since I am a commuter, it's difficult for me to participate in any extra school activities. I have frinds that play basketball and girls softball and they tell me they have a great time playing on the school team. Long Island University definitely deserves your attention.
