Overall

Overall this school was very flexible and very compliant with what I needed at the time. They offer amazing financial aid, a currently evolving campus, and great teachers. I love that they offer online and hybrid (half online, half in class) classes. The teachers are really passionate about their work and are very willing to help their students thrive. They are willing to compromise as long you as you discuss your situation.

Academics

They offer all kinds of classes, both online and hybrid. The professors are passionate and always encourage students. They offer real-world experience. The classes are really full the first week of school, but that's because everyone is trying to get in anything until they get what they need. Teachers add as many students as they can. The workload is manageable. They offer fall, spring, winter, and summer sessions.

Campus Facilities & Safety

Campus atmosphere is really popular. They offer different clubs for different personalities. The library is amazing, with computers, a tutoring center, study desks, study rooms, and books. There is a lot of parking around the campus, but you need a pass, $20. The campus feels very safe because it's well lit and there are several security officers in parking lots and driving around campus.

What I like most about the school is the available resources they have to students. From the financial aid office to the child care center. They have resources designed for students to succeed. If you remain focus and stay determined then you wouldn't have any problems doing well in school.

Campus Facilities & Safety

The sheriff is ALWAYS THERE. Just waiting. You don't have any other choice but to feel safe.

I attended this school for 3 semesters, 2 of which were completely messed up by an incompetent staff. The school is only good for a few online tech classes.....That is it!!!

Academics

Most of my teachers weren't very knowledgeable they just teach from videos and its hard for them to answer question not directly related to the video, and the equipment for the IT department is OK at best. Don't waist your time. They try and tell you they spent a lot of money on their equipment but it never works right. Again don't waist your time, El Camino and Santa Monica a way better choices. This is from my own experience.

Campus Facilities & Safety

The facilities are ok and the campus is safe but kind of dirty. There financial aid department is completely usless. They employ student workers that do not care about your situation and will lie to you and make it worse. Attend at you own peril!!! :-( Again this is from my own experience but do your research before attending.

Overall

West L.A. has a beautiful campus located in Culver City in Los Angeles. The campus is tucked away so has a great atmosphere on campus. Operations are pretty high tech there so you are able to register, handle financial aid, order transcripts and even book appointments all online through their website. This is a great school to transfer from and they have many transfer agreements in place with the local universities including the UC's, Cal States and USC.

Academics

Almost every class is also available at night, and many are available online. I took many classes online while concurrently enrolled in a 4-year university to help keep my costs down. Credits were easily transferable and I was able to order transcripts online to send to my university with no problem. Most night professors are part-time and work full time in the subject they are teaching during the day. This real-world experience makes the classroom teaching very positive.

Campus Facilities & Safety

The campus is really pretty, tucked away in the trees. There is a large soccer field and football field and athletics are strong here. Parking is pretty easy to find with the addition of a brand new 5 story parking structure at the back of the campus. Bus routes also go directly into campus as well.

Overall

I liked the flexibility of class schedules because it fit according to my work schedule. The fact that I could go to school at night and that there were classes available that i needed to take. Also they help you with the fees including books.

Academics

The professors i had were easy to learn from and easy to understand they were willing to help you after and before class one on one. Workload was never too much or ever too little. they would give us plenty of time to complete the work by giving us a syllabus of what was due and when.

Campus Facilities & Safety

Campus safety was one of the perks there were security always around especially at night when the late classes would let out and also there were police officers on campus. Classrooms would be well lit. The atmosphere around would be very friendly i would never experience anything out of the ordinary like a fight.

Overall

I really liked the campus location and the calm environment. The campus is located within a residential area in Culver city. It is walking distance to several shopping centers and a huge mall. If you have time between classes you could walk over and catch up on some shopping.

Academics

The only problem with this college is the very few classes they offered. Compared to other Jr colleges in Los Angeles, West LA probably has the fewest students. It is good when it comes to enrolling in classes, but the fewer the students the fewer class options.

Campus Facilities & Safety

West LA is a very calm and quiet campus. It is relatively safe and the parking situation is not too bad. There isn't much to do on campus but there is a lot to do outside of campus. The beach is a few minutes away by car and there are a lot of shopping centers walking distance.

Overall

When I attended West LA, I was enrolled in the paralegal program. The program is the first ABA approved paralegal program in Los Angeles. This means that students who complete the paralegal program at West LA have the opportunity to be identified as a certified paralegal in the state of California.

Academics

Most students in my classes were also working adults in the legal field. My professors were lawyers so it beneficial to knowing what exactly may be expected in working in the legal field. Various classes where offered in the program and plenty of online as well.

Campus Facilities & Safety

I did not spend much time on campus with campus life. I did however frequent the library and computer lab. The school could use more help here because there computer lab was always busy. The book store was also limited on supply. There was also plenty of paid student parking and the school offers free shuttles for commuters.
