About Academy of Massage Therapy, Jersey City
The Academy of Massage Therapy (AMT), situated in Hackensack, New Jersey, has spent over two decades preparing students for a lifelong career by providing a quality education from experienced and supportive staff in a small-school environment.
Academics at AMT offer certificates to graduates upon completing their program and becoming prepared to take the state certification testing. The high level of education and technical skills students receive will provide confidence in various massage techniques as well as how the human body functions.
Programs consist of Massage Therapy (English and Spanish classes available), Clinical Massage Therapy, and Spa Therapy Certification. The curriculum is comprehensive and is taught in a supportive atmosphere to help students gain the necessary confidence and knowledge.
The admissions requirements for AMT are that students must be at least 18 years old (students as young as 16 can apply with parental consent), possess a high school diploma or GED, and be physically capable of performing the duties of a massage therapist.
One of the steps in the admissions process is for prospective students to sit and meet with the financial aid office to apply for financial aid and create a payment plan for covering tuition.
