Reviews for University of Colorado, Colorado Springs
I never thought I would join a sorority and didn't even know UCCS had Greek life, but it has given me soo many opportunities for growth and meeting girls who share my values. So try something you never considered before and try to let go of pre-conceived judgements!!! It is also way cheaper than I thought Greek life would be, so get involved on campus in some way! College--and life--are what you make it!
UCCS has fairly small class sizes. This is good and bad. You get more attention, explanations, discussions, etc. in small classes, which should help you to better understand the material. You also tend to make more friends. However, I really like to have at least one large class every semester, because they seem easier/less work to me: the professor will not want to grade 250 essays, so the only grading will be based on test scores and a few extra-credits! Fortunately, UCCS has large classes and (predominantly) small ones of 20 or so, too.
TRY EVERYTHING YOU THINK YOU MIGHT LIKE AND BECOME A COMMITTED LEADER IN A FEW. Now, don't over-commit yourself and become lax in your class-work, but life is what you make it. Don't make it grades and/or parties. Sure, there should be plenty of time set aside for these things, but if you become involved, you will be more likely to ENJOY college and want to stay! At UCCS, we have a half-million clubs, quite a few sports, fun activities, and a philanthropic Greek life, etc. If nothing seems to catch your fancy (which i probably impossible...), start a club or two, I did!
overall i think its a nice school, i looked though the site and many pictures heard many good things about the campus, i seen the campus much and from what i saw the people weren't off when they described it to me.
I don't know much on the academics, proffessors, or the workloads to really comment on it accurately. i can that they do have the majors in which i want to go into.
I think the social atmosphere at the college is very lively and allot of the clubs seem interesting to me.
