About United Tribes Technical College

United Tribes Technical College (UTTC) students come to the Bismarck, North Dakota campus from tribes all over the country. Many students say the campus is just like life on the reservation, but better.

The college is owned and operated by tribal people for the benefit of tribal people. Although UTTC accepts students of all backgrounds, it does reserve priority for recognized American Tribal members.

United Tribes Technical College is accredited to offer associate’s degrees and bachelor’s degrees. A few of the associate’s degree programs include Art Marketing, Early Childhood Education, Tribal Environmental Science, and Tribal Management.

The bachelor’s programs consist of Business Administration, Criminal Justice, and Elementary Education. There are also certificate programs available. Students can take traditional on-campus classes or distance learning classes online.

Although UTTC has an open admissions policy, some of the programs have strict requirements or limited enrollment, so applicants are not guaranteed placement.

Financial aid is available to qualifying United Tribes Technical College students through the FAFSA and other sources. Many students receive some type of grant, scholarship, or loan to help cover tuition expenses. Financial aid representatives can help students review the options that are available to help them cover the cost of tuition.
