Reviews for University of the Southwest
I was looking for a college where I could take on-line classes to obtain my gifted endorsement. University of the Southwest offered what I was looking for. I am currently enrolled for the spring semester and should complete the required four classes by the end of May 2012. The professor is wonderful and willing to work with the students. I have been 100% satisfied and would highly recommend it to my friends. The campus is located less than 100 miles from where I live so if I would have to drive there for any reason, I would be able to do so. The counselors have been very friendly and helpful.
The university offers on-line classes, highly qualified teaching staff, small classes with lots of one-on-one attention, cost is fair and the curriculum is challenging. I have been very pleased with all aspects of this university.
I have been enrolled for on-line classes only. This question would not apply to me as I do not live on campus or am involved in campus life. I do not belong to any clubs or any type of organizations at this time.
Going to this school was the worst decision of my life and a horrible experience. There is a reason their graduation rates are atrocious. When I was there, I could not find almost anyone who wasn't looking to get out as soon as possible. Their financial aid and business offices are dishonest, their credits are not accepted almost anywhere else (I guess they can hide their true colors from websites and such, but other schools are onto them and know they do not educate their students), and the location is a terrible place to be a young person.
Academically dishonest... had a class that only met 3 times, if you showed up all 3 you got an A, no work or learning. If you receive any scholarship at all (most people get tiny token amounts so they can hook you, then they load you up with loans) they force you to live on campus, yet, more than half your classes will still be online! They barely have any face to face classes or even a full faculty.
I would love to have something to describe. The entire place shuts down at 5 o'clock like it was a commuter college. The athletics are about the only thing to do, but even there the quality of the teams and facilities is quite poor.
