Overall

Overall the college offers a broad range of programs appealing to a diverse student population. Courses are available at multiple campuses and online making classes very accessible to students. Tuition is affordable and offers great value for the educational investment. I certainly haven't experienced any negatives with DMACC but there could almost be too many program choices! There is always something else a person can learn here! In addition, the college has lots of extracurricular programs, student groups, and a strong student activities council offering fun and interesting events for student involvement throughout the semester.

Academics

DMACC offers reasonable class sizes for learning and interaction with professors. The school offers numerous program choices and schedules for virtually any student need. Students can choose from classes at multiple campuses, online or blended classes are also available. Professors are accessible to students and in my experience, have been very responsive and helpful.

Campus Facilities & Safety

Good facilities with access to some great equipment in my program of study. I have had no problems finding parking and feel safe any time of day I have been on campus (I do take an evening class from 6-10pm)!

Overall

i juts like the college and all its staff and also their fee which is not so sepensive as compared to others. there is also equality in the school and alot of cultural diversity. the college is positions are very good and easy to be reached no matter where you are living.the counseling department is so excent in helping the students to choose good careers that suits them. there equally good discipline in the campus.

Academics

our clases are excelent with good seats and not over crowded, well organised and so clean and the profersors are wonderful people. they will teach until everybody understands the topic before they can move to a new one. all the programs i'm taking are so good to me because the professor explains them so well and make them to be so interesting that i don't want to miss a class at all.the workload is so moderate and the assgnments very good for with the assignments, we are made to do a lot of reseach making us to understand the topics so well and to be able to apply them after studies

Campus Facilities & Safety

the campus has the best safty with security guards always moving arround and there is no crime going arround the campus both at night and during the day. the campus locations are also very nice in quiet enviropments good for learning and well constructed buildings that everyone will like to study there, excellent computer labs well arranged and not over crowded, well organised class rooms with a small number of students in each class, very large, safty and organised parking lots in a very good and quiet study enviropment.

Overall

This college really works with you by doing what they can to help, but you also have to put in the effort as well. Financial aid, Student services, professors, tutors, and the clubs are all excellent too. but there is also the downside of the student body and atmosphere. sometimes its like stepping back into high school (at the urban campus) it was that way for me anyway. but other than my opinion, overall, the school is great.

Academics

the class size is awsome, not too small but not too big either. teachers are wonderful and will work with you as long as you do the work and turn things in on time. workload depends on how much time you have but its not too bad.

Campus Facilities & Safety

the campus buildings, classrooms, labs, etc are all really nice and look excellent. campus safety is great, really on top of things. parking is okay during the week, if you dont mind walking. but overall the atmosphere is excellent, lots of diversity.

The reason why the rating is good here is because most older adults like me have been threatened by staff and students to not report any thing to what has happened here. The staff took $250 from FAFSA and from my understanding never returned it back to FAFSA.

Academics

I had One teacher who wanted to do her job as a Business teacher. the others wanted to teach the students they knew. one teacher gave me an F for doing an a speech because it was Just as gross as the other students. but she knew the other students, which she passed. maybe its pay extra to pass here - I dont know

Campus Facilities & Safety

This college is risk. as an older adult just living with some of the student's it was first the words of get Out old geezer.. After the students found out how old I was and that I was not from Iowa.the brutely beat me up several times. destroyed my stuff. wrote things on my apartment door like Die Geezer die and etc on it. I had one person open their coat and showed a gun in the pocket, walked off. students here are allowed Actual weapons here, Nun chucks, 9mm's - and are allowed to use them Fireworks(explosives) my roommates had a lot of in the Apt.and went off and did them right in the Parking lot. The campus view was ok for a week, by the last day of my contract the place had bags of garbage in the halls where walking was a maze. The Bates Motel is what I call the campus View, I have seen a few comments so far.some saying they are being taken for. their annual report shows no reports of anything. But I made several reports and other students. Very few students like the Labs. at first you might find he labs to work out but once the semester starts its hard to even find a computer to use. same as for the Libray, forget it. there are 3 big Desk's that take up all the space. 6 racks of books walking is also a pain I am glad i had ways of getting around. but a lot of students end up suffering here. getting food here is hard to get from grocery stores. ordering out is easy though expensive. Campus guards might just be Drunk - or be non existent. go ask for help and they tell you they cant help you or they are busy. on weekends they are not on duty. The Security let serious offenses bypass them. and if your a good student they watch you.

Overall

I like the size of the campus and students per class. For me, the location is ideal. The cost per credit hour is very reasonable and the cost of living in Ankeny I believe will be quite affordable. When I was on campus for orientation they were able to answer all my questions.

Academics

I think the small class sizes is a great benefit for students just graduating from a small, rural high school. I do not know many professors yet nor the amount of workload as I am an incoming freshman. I did notice that DMACC has plenty of programs to choose from with very flexible scheduling.

Campus Facilities & Safety

DMACC seems to be a very friendly atmosphere. It has several, specific field of interest organizations with something for everyone. It looks to have abundant on campus parking and security. While touring the campus; I noticed very large computer labs.
