Starting a career is a big and important step that's likely to define a great part of your life. And in order to take that step, you need to be prepared for the challenges you will find in the job market and feel confident about your abilities. For that reason, Summit College provides you with a powerful education that will prepare you for the field you choose.
At Summit College you will find a number of program options in three different career fields: Allied Health, Trade and Technical and Business. Each program will prepare you to reach your career goals, providing you with a well-rounded instruction and the skills you need to find an entry-level job.

At Summit College we believe that students must learn beyond the theory taught inside a classroom. That's why your classes will require you to spend time in the lab and deal with real-life situations. In the Certified Nursing Assisting (CNA) program, for example, you will be required to complete hours of lab/clinical training. This prepares you to handle patients when you start your job.
For students of Trade and Technical programs, we have facilities where students can practice what they learn in the classroom and deal with challenges they will encounter in real life.
As a Summit College student you will also be able to enjoy the Learning Academy, Library and classrooms. The Learning Academy, Library and Computer Lab offer crucial support to the learning process. You will find there a quiet and comfortable space with computers, free printer services and the most current test practice questions.
The Learning Academy is situated in the heart of the college and open six days a week to all students and graduates. Summit College classrooms are prepared with some of the tools and equipment that are used in each field of study.
Program Length and Different Schedules
In order to make career dreams possible, Summit College provides students with short-term programs and multiple schedule options. We keep our program schedule in tune with our mission to provide adult learners with entry-level skills and technological knowledge necessary to achieve success in their vocational fields.
For those who want to start a career, but have no time to waste, we offer programs that can be completed in less than a year. And because we understand that modern life requires students to coordinate education with other activities, we offer courses during mornings, nights and weekends.
As a Summit College student you will have assistance from our Career Services when it's time to look for a job in your chosen field. We offer assistance with resume preparation, interviewing techniques and establishing sites for externships.
Summit College has appropriate approvals for all the programs it offers. The school was approved by the Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education in 1992, soon after it was founded in 1991. In 1994 the College received its National Accreditation from the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET). We are also approved by the U.S. Department of Education.
Our Dental Assistant program offers Coronal Polishing and X-Ray training, which are approved by the Dental Board of California, and our Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program is accredited by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technicians.
