Classes are small and group work is a staple of the program. WJC faculty members are often also professional psychologists and therapists as well as seasoned educators.
Starting in their first year, all WJC students work in real-world situations. Under close supervision, they offer counseling at local clinics, mental health centers, hospitals, schools and other settings.
Admissions requirements are different for each program. Requirements for doctoral programs include completion of pre-requisite psychology courses, and possession of a bachelor's degree. Applicants should also have a GPA of at least 3.0, though the school makes exceptions to this requirement.
WJC offers federal financial aid, primarily in the form of student loans. To obtain loans, applicants will need to fill out a FAFSA. They will also need to attend at least part-time.
