Overall

I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of Volunteer State Community College. The professors have been wonderful, and have greatly influenced me to question everything, and to love knowledge. Before attending Vol State, I didn't have the love for knowledge I do now. I hated school and learning in general. After my experience at Vol State, I now look forward to learning new things, and I get excited about new subjects.

Academics

The standards at Vol State are set high. The professors work with you, the class sizes are small, and the work load isn't too awful. They want to see you succeed, but expect you to be very responsible and reliable students.

Campus Facilities & Safety

Every aspect is honestly impeccable. The facilities, labs, parking, everything. The campus police are very nice, the computer lab assistants are very helpful and always there, and the atmosphere is very enjoyable on every level. I really could not complain about anything involving my college experience at Volunteer State Community College.

Overall

Overall, Volunteer State Communtiy College is a great place to advance your studies at an affordable price! Unlike many schools, at VSCC, the affordibility is not taken away by the classroom quality. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, and they encourage you to ask questions at any time you need help! The thing i like best at VSCC is the resourses provided for the students like: the amazing Thigpen library, where free printing is available for all VSCC students , which is a money saver!

Academics

The classes are very interactive, involved, and straight foward. Vol State offers great programs to study, whether on the weekends, online, or at the main campus in a classroom setting. The professors are very caring, and dedicated to there field of study. The workload is very flexible, fit for the students independent needs. The best part is the class size. VSCC has medium to small class size which allows more one on on one time for questions etc.

Campus Facilities & Safety

The campus' atmosphere is positive and fun! The computer labs are up-to-date with very nice facilities. VSCC offers many clubs, sports, and organizations to fit everyones needs and wants. The parking is terrific! And there is always on site campus security to ensure the safety of everyone.

Overall

I believe it to be a good fit for me and the field that I am interested in, Ultra Sound Tech, and it is the closest to home and affordable. During my junior year at Upperman H.S., I took dual enrollment courses through Vol State. I have only visited the campus on one occasion. I think that over the past few years, Vol State has become more widely known.

Academics

I am in Advanced Math this year, taking 2 English classes and I also work part time. I have been very involved with working with children with special needs and I really enjoy spending time with these children. I transferred from Upperman H.S. to Cookeville H.S.. The difference in school size has increased by 4 times. I am transitioning very well.

Campus Facilities & Safety

I only visited here once. I have taken a couple of online courses through Vol State. I have not toured the school to enough to give a review of the campus. I only took online courses my junior year of high school. This was a dual enrollment course and it seemed to go ok.
