Overall

The overall school is great! I love how small the school and how friendly the students are around you. My freshman year, they had a lot of activities for us to do the first week and it helped me make some really great friends. I would advise prospective students to get involved no matter what. It helps get adjusted and get to know your future friends. Without involvement, it is really hard to feel like you are a part of something.

Academics

The class size is the best part. They are very small and the professors get to know their students and help with whatever they need to succeed in each of the classes. The workload on the other hand is very rough, but if you apply yourself and do the work that is assigned, it gets easier. The nursing program in general teaches you so much and is concerned about each one of the students individuals needs.

College Life

If you get involved in clubs and organizations, it helps a lot to adjust! For the size of the university, there is so much to do! I feel safe no matter what I'm doing and no matter what time of the night it is. The athletics, especially basketball, is great to watch. The games are a lot of fun and there are always a ton of people there. There is not all that much to do on weekends except hang out with friends and go to the frats.

I really like how friendly and helpful the professors and other faculty are when you just reach out to them and ask questions.

Academics

We have a lot of classes to choose from; I feel like, as far as classes go, if you can think of it we probably have it. I have yet to have a professor who was not kind and understanding when I had some kind of problem, they are always willing to help and answer any questions that I have. I love how small our class sizes are, for the most part there are not more than 30 students in a class.

Overall

I really love the school's atmosphere. The professors are always willing to help, and want you to do well. I recently joined a sorority which has been one of my best decisions so far! Everyone on campus is smiling and very polite, my favor aspect of Valpo is how everyone on campus will hold the door for one another it seems like a minor detail, but it just adds to the welcoming environment Valparaiso prides itself it.

Academics

Classes at Valpo are academically challenging, class size is small and class discussions are personalized, professors really take an active role in your lives in and out of the classroom which really benefits the students.

College Life

Campus social life is decent. Becoming involved in clubs and organizations is going to determine your social life. As far as campus security, I feel very safe walking around campus at night which was a major must when i chose what college I would attend. After a late night in the library it is comforting to know that you don't have to worry about the walk back to your dorm.

Overall

Overall, Valparaiso University has a lot to offer. The campus size makes you feel at home, and the friendly environment is very welcoming. I loved the beautiful chapel and the dining halls were very accommodating. The campus is very safe, I know that I will feel comfortable walking to and from my classes when I join the class of 2018.

Academics

The classes seem very rigorous and educational. I will be joining the Nursing College, and I know that I will receive a prestigious education with their advanced program. The class sizes range from about 24-30. The professors will always be there to help you and advise you during your educational career.

College Life

The campus is super safe! Many clubs and activities are available to all students. On the weekends the greek life hosts activities and hangout events for current students. Busses are also able to take students to Chicago on the weekends.

Overall

Valparaiso is a very good school academically and has very good facilities. On my visit, I was impressed by the way that the peple were very friendly and personable and always ready to help. I sat in on a couple classes, and a couple students engaged me in conversaion and asked me about my visit. Later, someone from the class came up and asked how I liked it. I feel like it is a friendly place and I will feel at home there.

Academics

Valpo is definitely one of the top schools academically in the midwest. They have very small class sizes, with student- teacher ratios around 13:1. This allows for alot of individual attention as well as opening for discussion and easier learning. I don't think the workload will be overwhelming but it will be challenging, which is good. My first two years will cover alot of general studies before I move on to more major-specific study.

College Life

Like I said, I think the atmosphere at Valpo is second to none. It is relatively small, which gives a sense of family and friendliness, but big enough to experience college life. It is a very safe campus, with emergency alarms across campus. They have Division I athletics and their basketball team made it to the NCAA Tournament this year. I don't yet know alot about weekend activities or the clubs on campus but I am excited to find out and am sure that Valpo is a good match.
