While there are plenty of health care schools out there, World Medicine Institute is one of the few that focuses exclusively on alternative medicine. In particular, academics at World Medicine Institute center on traditional Chinese medicine. The school offers Master of Acupuncture and Master of Oriental Medicine degree programs, both of which can be completed in about two years.
The curriculum at World Medicine Institute is quite varied. Some of the subjects covered include Traditional Chinese Medicine, Taoist Medicine, Treatment & Needling and Biomedicine. A clinical internship is an essential part of the coursework; students can choose to take a study abroad trip to China after their first semester. This trip, while not required, is a good opportunity to study the material at its origin.
Currently, the only financial aid available at World Medicine Institute is federal student loans. If you require additional tuition assistance, it’s recommended that you search for privately funded scholarships.
The admissions application for World Medicine Institute is available online. Admissions requirements include a resume, personal statement, letter of recommendation and official transcripts. For detailed information on admissions, visit the institute’s website.
