About DCC

The Delgado Community College in New Orleans, Louisiana, offers comprehensive academic and professional development and training programs in one of Louisiana’s oldest and largest community colleges.

A number of academic, social, professional, service and religious clubs and organizations are available to make your student life exciting and enriching. Whether your interests are in performing volunteer charity work for the community, a career in the record industry or office professionalism, the college has opportunities for you.

The school offers academic support services to students who are first generation college students and demonstrate financial need or are disabled.

Academics include associate’s degrees, technical diplomas, certificates and technical competency area programs. Some degrees include Funeral Service Education, Motor Vehicle Technology and Accounting. Certificates are available in Electrical Technology, Carpentry, Logistics Technology and more.

Admissions require students to have earned a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must submit an official high school transcript or GED certificate, proof of immunization, proof of registration with the selective service, take a placement assessment test and attend an orientation sessions. Students who have scored at least 18 in English, 19 in math and 17 in reading on the ACT are exempt from the placement exam.

Tuition is set lower for Louisiana residents.

Students who file a FAFSA will be considered to receive financial aid through grants, student loans, scholarships and student employment programs.
