If you are an animal lover who would like to turn your passion into a rewarding career, you should consider the veterinary academics offered at the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, Colorado, one of the largest veterinary technology schools in the nation.
The institute offers an associate’s degree in veterinary technology. To better prepare you for the career, the institute delivers its instruction in its fully equipped surgery and treatment facilities. Since most of your education will be hands-on, you will be personally supervised by your instructor during your training.
The degree program features instruction in many crucial veterinary topics, from general courses in medical terminology to advanced science courses in anesthesiology to applied skill courses in animal medicine and emergency room procedures.
Students are required to complete a 10-week internship program at one of Colorado’s many on-site clinics, which include small animal hospitals, zoos, laboratory animal research facilities and veterinary hospitals.
To enhance your education, Bel-Rea offers plenty of college life opportunities. You can meet friends and develop professionally by exploring programs like Animal Handling Clinics, Large Animal Mentorships and community volunteer programs.
If you have a high school diploma or GED and maintained a GPA of at least 2.4, you are eligible to apply to Bel-Rea. If you graduated high school with less than a 2.4, you can take an entrance exam administered by Bel-Rea’s admissions department.
Nearly 85% of the student body receives some form of tuition assistance. To see which Bel-Rea financial aid options are available to you, you can file a FAFSA.
