Fresno City College is a tad bit bigger than I expected. I had some trouble finding classes my first day of school but I managed after the first day. There were many friendly people there that were more than happy to help you find your class. Stands were posted as soon as you walk in school, with maps of the school. The students and staff there also helped out with directions on where to go. So far I have no special memorable experience because it was my first year in this college and I tried to dedicate myself to pass my courses and get used to the school overall. For new students going to this school, I highly recommend that you go on a tour before you start school. it will make your first day much easier.

Academics

The classes I ended up signing up for were Journalism, English 125, and Math 250. The courses are pretty easy. My professors' are also good at teaching you the things you need to learn. Journalism in my point of view is the most complicated of the three but if you are interested in all those media things and public relations, then that's a good class for you. The homework is very easy to understand if you attend every class. Once you've missed one, you're pretty much lost for a few classes afterwards. So, please make sure you always go to class. There aren't so many students in my classes, so it gives you very good one on one with the teacher. That also helps you a lot, and they give you lots of extra credit opportunities, so there's no reason for failing the classes.

Campus Facilities & Safety

I go to school during the night, so the campus isn't as bad as it sounds. The parking is always great. I never have trouble finding a parking spot. The campus seems pretty safe as well. When I arrive to school, all the clubs and stands have came down so I don't really get an opportunity to find out what goes on during the day but it sounds pretty awesome. The only thing that bugs me is that plenty of people smoke cigarettes around there and it makes my head hurt, but other than that I love going there.

Overall

The campus is a great. I love it, because it is nice and not dirty. I would advice new students not to drop out and later return. It will be extremely hard to get the best schedule possible for you. Try to stay in school even if it is taken one class maybe two classes. That is the best tip I have for new students.

Academics

The programs at the schools location I am not sure of them. The professors in the morning are somewhat nice to rude. The professors at night classes are the best. They are very nice and willing to help out the students. The class sizes in the beginning of the semester are no where to being room inside the room, but towards the drop deadline there is a lot of room.

Campus Facilities & Safety

The atmosphere of the campus I love, because there is life everywhere. From trees to squirrels. The facilities are in great shape and maintained in good conditions. The computer lab is the right size for the campus. Students are always using it and if there is a waiting line it only takes on average ten to twenty minute wait. The parking is horrible. Every time you get there to look for parking you are fighting a continues parking wars everyday.

Fresno city college has long history, so the campus is well organized. The library resources are helpful. But I was told the campus was not that safe, so i won't take class after 7:00pm.

Academics

The professors and counselors in Fresno city college are very kind. They are very patient and always willing to help you. Some people say not all the instructors are nice, but at least the professors i know are very helpful. some class size is small.

Campus Facilities & Safety

There are several parking lot, but it's not easy to park in the morning. They have financial aid computer lab, library computer lab, and computer lab for study.

Overall

I entered Fresno City fresh out of high school. I was adrift in life and it began to show before the end of my first year. The professors and other faculty members that had a part of my experience while there, recognized my faultering stps and attempted many times in many ways interventions, involving themselves with fellow teachers, my peers and even my family. Unfortunately, I slid off into obscurity. However, as I began to come alive and am ready to begin anew, I look back fondly at the concern and commitment those teachers had and i recall more than one of them leaving me with the words of lasting encouragement...when the time comes, & IT WILL COME, remember these rooms and halls. Know the door will remain open always. ... And... Here I am, taking steps for re-entering the doorway to complete my education and living a brighter, fulfilling life.

Academics

The professors were great. Very aware of their class moods and needs. Although some of the class populations were quite large, the teachers were capable of handling the size as well as dealing with vast differentials amongst the students. The workload seemed on par for the level of eduction we were at, and the curriculum was well prepared.

Campus Facilities & Safety

As a freshman in college, I found the campus spirit and atmosphere to be a positive one. That memory helped me swallow any fears of returning to school at this age (51). Although i was there for less than a year, during that time I was aware of the different extracurricular activities available to the student body and admired the school spirit and support of their school teams.
