About AUSB

Antioch University is one of the oldest progressive liberal arts colleges in the country. In recent years, Antioch has expanded from its original Ohio campus, opening up schools on the East and West Coasts. One of Antioch’s younger campuses is in beautiful downtown Santa Barbara, California. At the Santa Barbara campus, students may earn a bachelor’s or graduate degree in select professional and academic fields. Antioch Santa Barbara is particularly committed to educating adult students and, therefore, offers highly flexible schedules.

Antioch Santa Barbara’s most well respected programs are its master’s and doctoral degrees in Psychology. These graduate programs use Eastern and Western therapeutic methods to prepare students for well-rounded careers in therapy.

Antioch Santa Barbara also awards bachelor’s degrees in such subjects as:

  • Communications and Media
  • Business Management and Leadership
  • Child Development and Education
  • Liberal Arts

An Antioch education is always progressive. This means that students in all programs learn innovative techniques and methods. To make academics accessible to its mainly adult population, the Santa Barbara campus also offers flexible schedules. Full-time students may attend at night, during the day, or even one day a week. Part-time study is also available.

Undergraduate and graduate applicants must submit an application with transcripts, letters of recommendation and a personal essay. Standardized tests are optional in the admissions process. Those applying to a graduate program in Psychology will also need to attend a group interview with other applicants.

Antioch awards need-based federal aid, including loans and grants, to assist with the cost of tuition. Students may also apply for academic scholarships. In addition, Antioch provides resources for finding outside scholarships and financial aid.
