Collin College – Courtyard Center
Collin College’s Courtyard Center serves as the school’s main location for workforce development. The Courtyard Center offers continuing education courses in areas like healthcare, computer education, ESL and more.
It is also home to the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Center for Workforce & Economic Development (CWED). The CWED offers a range of services, including consulting and workforce training. Similarly, the SBDC provides consulting and training geared toward small businesses.
Another important part of the Courtyard Center’s academics is the Seniors Active in Learning (SAIL) program. SAIL enables local senior citizens to take noncredit classes for personal enrichment.
Because it is not a traditional campus, Collin College – Courtyard Center does not offer financial aid. In fact, many of its programs are available free of charge. You can learn more about the Courtyard Center and its educational offerings by calling (972) 985-3790.

This is a very non-stressful (unless you make it so) place to attend school. Get your basics out of the way and have extra time to decide your career path. Staff is eager and ready to help. If you have not totally decided on a career choice this is the place for you.
Overall Collin County Community College is an excellent place- both academically and physically. The campus is large but not overwhelming or confusing, and the academic side (which is the main reason for college) is rich and stimulating. Most professors are deteremined to help you LEARN AND KNOW THE MATERIAL, not just pass the class. That is an important aspect of getting an education- the desire and motivation to excel on both professor and student fronts. People are very confident here, faculty and students alike. I think students that may not be ready for college have great professors and resources to develop certain areas, and the whole atmosphere encourages responsibility and perseverance. Also, because it is a community college, I wasn't sure what kind of college experience to expect. I do live at home with my parents, but Collin College has been a wondereful transition for me. I wanted to save college funds and still wasn't ready to be independent, so attending this community college has proved to be a wise and rewarding decision. I have enjoyed more freedoms with my schedule, while benifitting from a stable place to live, (eat, park etc.). Collin College is a great way to smoothly make the switch to college without too many drastic changes, but with just as many or more opportunities for growth and independence.
