Called The Journey to Success, Jamestown's approach gives students the chance to assess themselves and their progress, while meeting regularly with academic mentors and career counselors. All students also undertake an internship assignment in their area of study.

Jamestown's admissions department requires applicants have a high school diploma or GED, a minimum grade point average of 2.5 and an SAT score of at least 850.
However, those who don't meet these requirements may be considered for conditional admission. An application, transcripts, test scores and an academic recommendation are required.
Many students receive financial aid awards, which include scholarships, need-based grants, loans and other sources. Depending on the type of aid, eligibility may be determined by a student's financial status, academic merit or special artistic talents.
