Reviews for Central Virginia Community College
Central Virginia Community College is a good 2 year college, there are many students there to learn and get theirselves an education. As for me trying to get an degree to become an neonatal nurse, this college is aiding me to get to where I need to be. What I like most about this school is the friendly falculty and staff, they're there to help a student in any situation. Also my memorable experiences here at the school would be the spring picnics that the school has every year, I really enjoy attending them all. My tips for prospective students is to study, be prepared, be focused on what you're striving for, and to always be in class on time!
My classes are not too heavy this semester, which is great, starting off this semester I would of have been taking 6 classes, but my counselor advised me to take it easy and drop 2 of them and just do 4, which is less stressful to me, and I'm still considered to being a full time student. The programs that the school provides are appropriate to me, some are more challenging than the others, but overall they're good programs. I have my share of professors that I prefer to have being known to many of them and having taken their classes before. Many of them teach in a different way and I just choose to pick the teacher that teaches just the way I like it! The workload isn't too heavy, but you just have to focus on doing the work rather than slacking off on it. My classes are not too overloaded they're just the right size because I'm the type of person who doesn't like a classroom full of people and having it crowded.
Campus Facilities & Safety
The campus atmosphere is pretty well put, the falculty always make sure that the campus is kept nice and clean. The facilities stays clean everytime I take a trip to the bathroom or going into the studnt lounge or cafe to hang out. The computer labs are well kept up and clean. The organizations are always having different fundraisers going on in the student lounge which is an excellent thing. The main parking lot where students park is always packed and hard to find a parking space, it would be nice if that parking lot was expanded because parking at the other 2 parking lots on the main street and trying to get on class on time is a struggle. The campus security are always on their job, and they're there when you need them.
Upon graduating from high school, I wanted to attend a college that would give the needed knowledge to succeed in life. Central Community College has given me this opportunity. The college is not so bug, that I fel like a number but a individual; however it is small enough to get personal with my professors. I want to be a productive citizen and feel I am on the right path at CVCC. It allows me to work to help support myself and still be able to apply myself to meet the challenges of a ever changing society. I suggest to anyone seeking a good higher level of education while trying to support oneself financially, it is the place. Lets face it, oue economy is in a downward spin, and finances play a key role, so why not get a good college at a more affordable rate. Thanks.
At CVCC, I have found the professors to be professional, they want their work and expect you to put forth every effort to absorb what is is needed to make you successful. There have been occasions that they have been more understanding to my circumstances, and I appreciate that more than they will ever know. Sometimes is nice to know someone really cares.
Campus Facilities & Safety
I have to good fortunate to take classes at both campuses. I am a resident of Bedford, it is smaller site, yet very informative and well equipped to get my work completed. I also take some classes at the main campus in Lyncburg, where of course is it much larger and allows me to see what college atomsphere is really like. The entire facilities of both campuses is good; however, the main is more equipped to meet more of my needs. I must state that parking can get hectic which requires more planning on my part..
