Reviews for Brigham Young University, Hawaii
What I liked best about the school is the cultural diversity of students and representatives of many cultures from many nations. Sitting in a classroom setting where 90% of the student populations speaks another language other than English is truly amazing. It allows others to recognize the differences of others and elevates a total acceptance of culture, language, and learning. This in of itself is worth a most valuable experience that will prepare individuals to go out and merge into communities, peoples, and hopes of securing jobs where one can make a difference!
The classes are more on a small scale. Student and professor is more on a name basis which is extremely valuable in learning and with getting more personalized assistance. The University is strict and adheres to the highest level of ethical standards of integrity and honesty. You generally get to know all those students who are in the same major and become closely connected through group work and presentations. Close ties and relationships are formed through the course of learning up to graduation. The professors will push one's ideas, writings and thought processes to the limit. Assignments and syllabus are followed closely.
There are many clubs to join, food fest, transportation outside of the university. There is a security on campus at all times. There are various activities through sports, student government, dances, cultural exchanges, community, arts, music, speakers, presentations, devotionals, etc throughout the year.
