I am very happy to say that this College is turning my life around. I am returning back to college after 30 years of not attending any kind of schooling. I am a struggling student who is so greatful to everything this campus has to offer. Every one has been so very helpful and kind!!!

Academics

They are doing a lot of construction and it is beautiful! The class rooms are nice and the Professor's are the bomb. They truly understand the difficulty of having to work, study, have a family, and be a full time student. The classes have the same amount of students as desk. The work load is to be expected for any 18 week course. I am enjoying my time here and look foward to this new semester!!!!

Campus Facilities & Safety

Well as for parking it has been a little challenging due to all the construction. When it is completed all will be good. Parking for every one!! Like I said before they are under a huge remodel and the facilities are great. There is security 24/7 and I personally have felt very safe! It is a wonderful place to be with every one working on a comman goal, to get an education to better our lives.

Overall i think LBCC is a great school it has been helpful for coming back to after twenty years or more . The most helpful for has the STAR program they have some very good instrusatures for me was Mrs Runningbear whom has since passed on . Students coming into LBCC should m have helped me ake that meet with a consouler to make sure that they are take the classes needed to achive thier goal .

Academics

for me have carried 12 units but not always passing them all , my problem was that i did not always ask for help because fearing that someone my age should know how to do the work that was requried of me . Now i have learned to ask for help this Fall 2012 my classes will be Astronomy 1 , Reaped Math 110 and HS 207 helping listening develpoing . I found out that my professors will over thier serivces beyond the call of thier duty , they have stayed after class with to make sure that i understand , being an disabled student has help me to be able to take test outside of class where it quite . Lbcc has some great sevices to offer such as the Math Lab , Readin g Lab , Tutioral LAB , and every new and returing student that has not taken a LIB 1 resource Class should it Real help me for as searching the right web sites for research paper and more .

Campus Facilities & Safety

At the PCC campus thier are some reaaly cool people that will help you with any thing from directions to offering you to use thier print cards ,study buddies , will just talk with you . They offer a shuttle bus to the Lac Campus almost every 30 mintues Mondays through Thursdays for free all you need is and up-to date ASB card . They offer three different Lab on campus they have organization like ESOPS ,that will help with free books and grants that you do not have to pay back , STAR ,offers scholarships . they have a graet carrer program and they also Federal work study .I feel that are campus is safety the problem occurs when outside people and walk through to get somewhere else and may sometimes bother a student

Overall

when I was doing my research to try going back to school I wish I knew how important scholarships were to my being sucessful. As far as academics were concerned it seemed a lot of people were going for human services (drug), I did not want to folow that path , however I do want to help people, and this area is extensive. The program at long Beach City college that offers human services seemed to be a good one. My favorite professor is Ms Montez, an English professor She was an excellent tearcher, although I still have al lot of work to do in this area. DPSS, and EOPS are two excellent departments, I truly apprecieate all their help. These two departments do all they can to see that student be sucessful. Look get a map it will be your best friend, ask questions, and READ signs and posters, read everything a lot of informations is posted all over campus.I am an older student who has a full plate at home so my student life is all most non exsistant, however the learning center, computer room, tutors are all great resources for me

Academics

The class size seems to be growing over the last year due to the economic situation. In my life today I am at a place where I love to learn I love school so not to many thing can get in my way. I'll say this I dont appreciate students who disrespect others. The professore at long Beach City all try hard to give us the best educatin they can.The programs can be better, but with the budget cuts they do the best they can being under staffed.I have learned so much at this school I can apply to my every day life, and am doing so. I am involved in an organzation that deals with the homeless I can apply all I have learned to help the best that I can.

Campus Facilities & Safety

The campus atmosphere is light and friendly.I love the computer labs, and the different activities that school organizations put on. it seems that there is enough school sprit to go around. campus safty has been addressed here recently, and it seems that the safty of the students are a priority to the school, I do feel safe.

Overall

Overall I think the school is equipped with several different program for student to be successful with there classes and career plan.

Academics

The classes are well structured and informative. Most of the professors are very professional and knowledgeable. The workload varies depending on the course. The class size is good, but I think they need more classes for basic education classes because they fill up quickly upon enrollment.

Campus Facilities & Safety

They have 2 campuses the PCC campus is currently under construction which is an inconvenience, also there cafeteria doesn't have a grill that cooks hot food, but the LAC campus is nice and well equipped for the students. Both campuses have good campus safety.
