Overall

I really enjoyed the faculty and staff. The teachers are amazing and the campus is a great environment. The students are more welcoming and respectful than the other college I've attended. Everything a student could possibly need is provided in some way whether it be the teacher, another student, the library, or even the staff.

Academics

I loved taking psychology. There was a decent amount of homework, a nice size amount of in class work, and a lot of educational projects that helped out with the exams. The classes are fairly large, but enough for the teacher to interact with each student individually.

Campus Facilities & Safety

Everyone on campus is very helpful and respectful. Parking is a little hectic, but more spaces are opening up soon. There are tons of extra help around campus for further assistance. Everything is easy to locate and very organized. A lot of social groups are well organized and everyone works well as a team.

Overall

Overall the school is way above what you would think a community college would be. The campus is located in a beautiful area of Rocklin located near every type of business you would need but is still located near lots of nice outdoor scenery which by no means reminding you your in a city. Some of the things that stood out for me was that Sierra College offered affordable on campus living. This was perfect for someone who couldn't wait to move out but didn't want to be broke doing it. The campus has great social facilities with a huge cafeteria with flat screen tvs and couches and the outdoor quad has an modest size amphitheater for live music. I would say one draw back for the school was that its popular, so sometimes getting all the classes you want doesn't happen. They do offer streaming video of classes for the more popular choices though. Overall perspective would be the area is great most people who attend are friendly (the school also has a big international student population) The campus has great options for social activities with live music and social clubs, sports ect and feature a great deal of professors and teachers who have awesome credentials.

Academics

I was unsure what i wanted to study at first so came in as a gen.ed lib art student but i ended up majoring in music. Living on campus made doing a lot of units easy so in the course of 2 1/2 years i completed around 84 units with 4 A.A degrees. Some of the classes and teachers that stood out were Johnnie Terry for philosophy, Hank Wesselman for Anthropology and Bill Carmody for music. All very distinguished teachers who come from fascinating backgrounds. The classes i have taken from them i will always remember.

Campus Facilities & Safety

Everything said above covers most of the campus but one additional thing i forgot to mention was the campus has a full size theater that's used for stage but also for cinema. When i was living on campus i would audit 2 classes one was "History of Cinema" and the other was something on the lines of "International Cinema". The classes were basically set up the same; the first hour the professor explained the movie for the night, giving tons of interesting info on the actors, time period and movie plot. The second hour is just watching the movie on the big screen. This was more then worth the money for the units even if its not for credit.

Overall

I havn't been there long, however it seems like a really nice school and i'll be recieving my AA degree after highschool from there. Tips for prospective students make sure to set up your counselor appointments early or you will have to take all core classes your first semester.

Academics

They have really good classes and academic programs, i'll be taking mostly core material math english etc for the first semester but i'll be involved with choir, music theory and other exciting lcasses.

Campus Facilities & Safety

The campus seems very secure i havn't heard of any incidents that would make me think toherwise; the campus is very wel setup with their parking lot and easily accessed very excited to attend and will enjoy my years at sierra.
