Reviews for The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, Los Angeles
It's a good school if you know exactly what you want to do. Their curriculum is very tailored to specific parts of the industry, so you're really learning what you need to go into the design business. Overall, you're meeting a lot of great people and networking is one of the most important things to get a job anyway.
Classes are really small so that usually helps with the type of topics you're taking. Classes are good, you're learning exactly what you need to for the real world, however some of them can seem a little redundant (especially the business classes). Also some professors are awesome, and some look like they were hired just because they needed someone to teach the class.
There isn't a lot you can do in terms of clubs and organizations, but that doesn't mean there are none. There are some but they're usually ones just for the fashion design people so unless you know how to sew, you won't be joining it. There are no athletics and there is only one academic sorority.
