Pompano Beach is a small town just north of Ft. Lauderdale in the greater Miami area. Known as having “Florida’s warmest welcome,” Pompano Beach is a laid-back, pretty typical Florida city. There is a very popular coral reef just off the coast that brings a lot of people to the area for snorkeling and diving.

The city is home to just over 110,000 people and is 36 miles from downtown Miami. Public transit can get you there easily, as well as many other towns in the Miami area, so even if you don’t attend college in Pompano Beach (there aren’t many options), you may still want to consider calling it home during your studies!
