As you know, planning and organization become increasingly important the closer you get to college. In high school, your teachers guide you through lessons in time management with assignments and deadlines. They teach you facts about a variety of subjects and make sure you learn those facts through tests. The SAT and ACT tests are two ways that these skills are measured against other students across the country to see if you're ready for college.

Unfortunately, the SAT is only administered seven times a year (the ACT, only six). This means that you have to be on top of your scheduling if you want to ensure that you can take (or retake) the standardized tests required by your prospective colleges before you apply.

Which test should you take? It's up to you and it depends on the colleges you're interested in; about 43% of college-bound students take the SAT, while the other 52% of graduating seniors take the ACT.
