HCC Description

There are hundreds of online and on-campus courses offered at Hutchinson Community College (HCC), including Agricultural Diesel Mechanics, Graphic Design, Professional Pilot, and Welding Technology.

HCC is a vocational preparatory school that has certificate and associate’s degree programs. Many of these programs can be completed online and classes start every month, so students have a certain level of convenience if they are interested in learning remotely.

Those who want to take courses at school are provided with the comfort of more intimate class sizes and a mostly wireless campus with almost all buildings having free access to the Internet.

Financial aid is accepted at HCC from those who meet the requirements for available funding sources.

Of course, HCC understands that academics and career preparation are only part of the college experience, and there are many other ways for students to get involved and make lasting memories such as participating in community service, involvement in musical and theater productions, and participation in athletic activities.

The tuition is low is a big plus when you have to pay for school yourself. Teachers are great, I've only had two teachers I would give a grade of "F" in there skills for teaching. This has been over the time period of 10 years of going to school there off and on when time worked for me to go back to school. The teachers that I have this year have been the most caring people so far. They have taken an extra step in helping me with my classes. I have taking Algebra 4 times, this year I will pass since my teacher is taking the extra time before and after class to help me. I would vote Melinda Hale, teacher of the year for the extra help she has given me and others as well. The building is clean, the help are caring; my advisor is great. I really don't have anything bad to say. This semester I am taking 16 hours.

I think that this school was a great one. It really helps you gain the experience that you will need to know at a four year college. JUCO may not have the biggest campus around but the staff is very helpful when it comes down to it. They want you to succed in life, and as a student it makes the experience you have that much more remarkable.
