Description

At South Texas Vocational Technical Institute, in McAllen, Texas students don’t only get training in some of the most in-demand careers; they are also given instruction in workplace etiquette, job search techniques and other professional skills.

Computer Accounting, Dental Assisting, Medical Assisting and Massage Therapy are the majors available at South Texas Vocational.

The career services division will help students to find part-time work while still in school. In preparation for post-graduation employment, they also assist with preparation of resumes and cover letters, as well as interviewing skills and job-search methods. Finally, Career Services assists students with the actual job search process.

This job placement benefit isn’t just for students, either. Anyone who graduates from South Texas Vocational may, at any time throughout their lives, receive such assistance.

Other services include housing referrals, financial aid counseling and actual financial aid awards for students who qualify.

Students who wish to attend South Texas Vocational should have a high school diploma or GED, though those who do not may take a GED-prep course at the school itself. Students will also need to complete an application and interview with an admissions representative.
