LSCS Description
Lone Star College System is one of the largest and most rapidly growing community college systems in the state of Texas.
Based in the Houston region, Lone Star has six campuses located in Houston as well as campuses in Montgomery, Harris and Tomball counties. Online classes are also available.
Associate’s degree programs and certificates offered throughout the Lone Star college system encompass everything from the liberal arts and sciences to technical and medical fields. A sampling of Lone Star’s numerous and eclectic offerings include Accounting, Fork Lift Operations, English Literature, Teacher-Education, Pre-Law and Veterinary Technology.
In service to students of all backgrounds, Lone Star also offers special programs for high school students and international students.
Additional support programs and services are also available for students who are veterans. Lone Star’s campuses provide comprehensive services for all students, including career and academic counseling, tutoring and other forms of academic support.
While student life differs from one Lone Star campus to another, student organizations and leadership programs can be found on all campuses.
Tuition is comparable to most community colleges, and can be covered in part or in full with financial aid, which is available to those who qualify.
