Description

With an enrollment around 1,000 and consistently strong academics, Oglethorpe University is the quintessential liberal arts school.

The university also takes pride in its “urban liberal arts” environment. Campus life at Oglethorpe is a small, tightly knit community, but the excitement and vastness of Atlanta is just around the corner.

Oglethorpe’s academics begin with an interdisciplinary core curriculum, which helps students gain a broad educational perspective. You can then choose from about 30 majors, or plan your own if none offered match your interests.

Oglethorpe University provides continuing education programs for students seeking to complete their degree. In this curriculum, which is designed for working adults, you can take classes in the evening and earn a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies or Business Administration. The school also offers a master’s degree program in Early Childhood Education.

In addition to these programs, Oglethorpe has a Certified Financial Planner course. Atlanta finance professionals teach this accelerated program, which gives you a first-hand look into the industry.

Most financial aid at Oglethorpe comes from federal sources, including Pell grants and Stafford loans. The university also sponsors several merit scholarships, the most prestigious of which is the full-tuition James Edward Oglethorpe Scholarship.
