- General Theory and Basic Training (150 hours)
- Practical Chemical Application, Hair Treatment and Styling (975 hours)
- Shop Management and Interpersonal Relations (200 hours)
- Esthetics (85 hours)
- Nail Technology (55 hours)
- Classroom and Practical Review (35 hours)
The Teacher Training course runs for 1000 hours, the first 500 of which focuses on teaching basic cosmetology theory and practice. The rest of the program is devoted to educational psychology and teaching methods.
Cannella School of Hair Design in Elgin teaches classes during the day and evening, with part-time and full-time scheduling options. Eligible students can lessen the burden of tuition with federal financial aid programs.
